Olga Safronova - dancer, body coach, and freedomDANCE teacher who creates space for the nourishment of personal resources through movement.
Olga was born and raised in a tiny provincial town like many in Russia. Regardless of its size, this place served as a good starting ground for her life, giving her loving parents, unique teachers at school and at the dance studio. At the age of 14, she and her studio “Comic dance show” performed on the main TV channel in the popular talents’ show “Morning Star”.
Olga’s parents, although supported her interests, insisted on the choice of education not related to movement, expressing the typical in those times opinion that "dancing is not a profession."
Further, Olga's life path shaped through university years, 4 months of life in the USA, corporate career in the field of import and brand management, moving to Moscow, and exploring the world on numerous trips - from Syria to Australia.
The passion for creativity and maintaining contact with physicality never abandoned Olga. In the student theatre, she was entrusted not only acting but also the production of movement compositions.
After the university, a rapidly developing career did not allow frequenting a dance studio regularly. In addition, it became clear that it what is precious for Olga is not the stage, but movement and dance, therefore the format of a concert band participating in competitions was compatible neither with work nor with what her soul was seeking. At that moment, khatkha yoga substituted dance. In 2005 there happened Olga’s introduction to the meditation practices of the Indian philosopher and mystic Osho. They proved to be an effective tool for self-regulation and capable to reduce stress that tended to accumulate at work.
In 2011, Olga met the practice of conscious movement, which made impotent the belief that dancing after 30 years did not exist. At the level of all systems - body, mind, and soul - Olga felt as if she had come back home and sensed that dance is the shortest path into meditation.
From 2011 to 2014, alongside the career of a brand manager, Olga attended and organized classes and workshops of conscious movement and innate voice power. England, USA, Turkey, Greece, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Russia - she intensively explored the wisdom of movement for self-development and self-harmonization through the practices of 5rhythms®, Open Floor, Movement Medicine and freedomDANCE.
In 2014 Olga enrolled in the freedomDANCE teachers training with the best facilitators from Britain and California and started to teach the same year.
In 2016 Olga launched a regular class in Moscow.
In 2017 she graduated from the 2nd level of the freedomDANCE teacher training allowing her to offer workshops which she started immediately.
Olga speaks 2 foreign languages - English and Italian, which allowed her not only to learn from the best teachers internationally but also to work as an interpreter of training programs and conduct her classes in Europe.
“With all the love for traveling the globe, I realized early enough that there are other journeys - internal - and they fundamentally impact where a person is in life and how much he or she is satisfied.
As a facilitator of group and individual work, I do my best to create space for a deep journey invisible for others. It has no destination but is inevitably fruitful. I address just one task - to illuminate a person’s path “home” to their own bodily truth and original vivacity.
The playground of the practice of conscious movement is unique in the absence of competition and comparisons. It is where we go beyond the level of words and enjoy safe space and total acceptance of the individuality of every dancer.
I try to give a person as much freedom as I myself like to receive in the process of movement. ” Olga Safronova
