Giorgi Risse was born in Georgia and raised in Moscow. Since 2019 he lives in Switzerland with his wife — whom he met while dancing — and their son. He began exploring meditation and mindful practices in 2007. In 2015, while living and studying in Vienna, he discovered free dance, which has since become a central part of his life. From 2017 he organised numerous classes, workshops and retreats for the freedomDANCE school, including several retreats led by Alex Svoboda in Turkey. Giorgi taught as a trainee in Moscow (2019) and in Fribourg and Bern, Switzerland (2020–2021). After a pause in his teaching activities, he started to develop his dance practice with a new regular class in Fribourg (Switzerland) in 2026.
