ICMTA stands for the ‘International Conscious Movement Teachers Association’. freedomDANCE school is proud to belong to the ICMTA community. Our teacher-training programmes are accredited by the Association. freedomDANCE teachers and trainees are individual member of the Association, and stand for its high professional and ethical standards.
ICMTA is our international dance umbrella, which apart from freedomDANCE, includes representatives of other highly respected schools of conscious movement; such as Open Floor, 5Rhythms, Movement Medicine, Soul Motion, Azul. The Association is a resource for professional development as it holds regular teacher gatherings, promotes experience sharing, and provides a forum for mutual support.
ICMTA is also a valuable resource for dancers. You can find information about conscious movement classes worldwide on the Association’s website.
The Association is an independent non-profit organisation registered in Belgium. Just like freedomDANCE School, ICMTA’s structure and management are grounded in the principles of dynamic self governance (sociocracy).
